Gabby & Alex Chinka

We were looking for a DJ & MC for our wedding, with a strong preference for a New York area DJ familiar with African culture, specifically from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria, where my husband’s parents are from. A coworker recommended DJ SM, as she had seen him DJing pan-African parties in the tristate area. It turned out he is originally from Nigeria himself, which was perfect for us, and he certainly did not disappoint! I had a clear vision for our reception, including songs ranging from American top-40s hits to Afrobeats/Highlife, and classic Soul/R&B. DJ SM did an incredible job blending all the songs from our playlist with tracks from his own collection. Guests were genuinely impressed by how smoothly everything flowed, and the dance floor was packed non-stop, and his associate, Chuck, managed the large hall flawlessly and worked seamlessly with our video-photographer and planner. The transitions between dances, the bouquet toss, dress changes, traditional vows, and all events lineup were smooth and perfectly timed. Maestro Beats MC Chuck also spoke some light-hearted Igbo fluently to hype up the dance floor guests made of Africans & Americans – and get people happily smiling, which was such a thoughtful touch. Maestro Beats DJs have been doing this for nearly over a decades, and their entertainment expertise and professionalism were absolutely evident. If you’re a young couple who loves music and enjoys clubs, festivals, private events, and diverse weddings, this DJ services will bring the best of those experiences to make your big day truly special!

The only minor point I would mention is that the DJ pricing was a bit above our initial budget. However, in fairness, they explained that heavy speakers and extended gears were necessary to accommodate our huge banquet hall and almost 450 guests, which is beyond a standard wedding package. I must say, they were truly prepared for the occasion because the sound quality was fantastic and captured every moment perfectly. My friends said the music sounds great and clean. And the dancing? OmG, best of the best songs, out of this world! If the venue allowed, our guests would dance till next day!
