Seyi (aka DJ SM) is the Music Curator and Principal DJ of Maestro Beats Entertainment. A master of versatility, DJ SM is among the elite few DJs known for an expansive genres and eclectic music collection that spans the globe. One of his favorite mantras: “If it sounds good, I’m into it.” More importantly, if you want it to sound great at your event, he’s the one to make it happen.
An established DJ with a wealth of experience, DJ SM excels at a diverse range of events. From elegant weddings and exclusive private parties to high-energy corporate events and intimate family celebrations, he consistently delivers.
He brings deep music intelligence, seamless transitions, and an intuitive ability to read any crowd. As an open-format DJ, his genre-spanning sets include everything from Top 40s hits, Afrobeats, Afropop, Latin, Reggae, Highlife, House, Amapiano, EDM, Soft Rock, Hiphop/R&B, Smooth Jazz, timeless Classics Soul hits, Your Playlist & more! – always tailored to the unique vibe of each occasion.
Over the years, DJ SM has built a loyal base of repeat clients, elite private party hosts, country clubs, and collaborative partnerships with booking agents and fellow DJ companies – all of which speak volumes about his exceptional talent and reliability.
His reputation isn’t built on skills alone – it’s also his humbleness, approachable demeanor, and ability to connect with people where they are, create unforgettable, fun-filled moments, and elevate the overall event experience that sets him apart.

He previously held rotating DJ residencies at some top nightspots in New York and New Jersey, with his last residency being at Sheraton’s Illusions Nightclub in NJ until 2013. Concurrently and since, he’s had the privilege of performing at some of NYC’s iconic clubs/lounges, including: Cipriani, Cellar, Skylark, Monarch, Ava Lounge, HudsonTerrace, Skyroom, Suite 36, Katra, LeSouk, Iguana, 40/40, Taj, LatinQuarter, WebsterHall, RedRooster, Pranna, Shrine, Silvana, VarickRoom and 230-Fifth, just to name a few.
In addition to his extensive global music repertoire, DJ SM is recognized as a trailblazer in New York’s African music scene. Since 2009, he has played a pivotal role in introducing and popularizing Afrobeats and Afropop hits across NYC nightlife. He founded African Soul Jam, a premier African dance party series, and co-founded Taste of Africa Event Series. He is also known for his passionate support and organization of multicultural, charity, and African-themed events throughout the New York Tri-State area.
Originally from Nigeria, DJ SM began his DJ career spinning at private parties and in the vibrant club scene of Lagos, Africa’s most populous city, before relocating to New York – which he has proudly called home for two decades.
